To the Chuckwagon cooks on the cattle drives of the 1800's the dutch oven was one of their most essential pieces of equipment. The cast iron dutch oven is so versatile that it can be used for almost any type of cooking. Virtually anything that can be cooked inside or on top of a kitchen stove can be cooked in a dutch oven.
And the beauty of it is that anyone can learn to cook in a dutch oven. This workshop will teach the basics of dutch oven cooking from how to select a good dutch oven to how to turn out a complete meal that will amaze your friends.
This will be a hands-on type of workshop where participants will get to do the actual cooking themselves. Basic menu items such as meats and potatoes will be addressed as well as breads and desserts.
At the end of each workshop there will be drawing to give away a small door prize to one of the participants.
